Hi, I’m Emma, a senior Exercise Science major and I studied abroad in Dingle, Ireland! A fact about me is I love penguins and the folks of Dingle Oceanworld Aquarium truly backed this as they supported me in my passion for penguins. From marching in the st Patrick’s day parade as a penguin to letting me meet the penguins themselves they truly represent the heart and kindness of the Dingle community and Irish spirit!

Media Arts
Hello! My name is Ally and I studied in Dingle, Ireland (aka my second home now). I studied during the spring semester of my Junior year and took classes for my degree in Media Arts: Film & Television. I have a passion for theatre and the arts and love to combine this with my degree in media. Dingle was a great experience as I got to explore field production with the creation of a few short films and a documentary. I also got to help several companies in the town with their social media/marketing for their products! I was able to dive into my passion and create whilst in Dingle while also adventuring through the beautiful country of Ireland. Experiencing a life abroad has shaped my life for the better and has inspired me to keep discovering where I could express my passion for media and the arts in different cultures and environments.

Hi! My name is Kerri Holden and I am a Junior Social Work major minoring in Psychology. On campus I am involved in Alpha Delta Pi sorority and Social Work club. In the spring of 2022, I was blessed with the opportunity to study abroad in beautiful Dingle, Ireland. Dingle taught me so much about myself and gave me some of the best opportunities and friends of my life. I have always loved to travel, so embarking on this journey was something I will never forget. While abroad, I was able to see new countries I have never seen including Italy, Spain, Portugal and England and fall in love with exploring the world all over again. My time away was something I hold near and dear to my heart, and I hope everyone gets to experience such an amazing journey!

Hi! My name is Katherine Fitzpatrick! I am a junior at Sacred Heart from Long Island, New York! I am a double major in Psychology and Criminal Justice with a minor in honors. On campus I am a member of the Delta Zeta Sorority and a Honors Peer Mentor. I had the opportunity to spend the spring 2022 semester in Dingle, Ireland. I am forever grateful for being able to study in Dingle and step out of my comfort zone to be able to experience some of the best months of my life. Dingle is a lovely town on the West coast of Ireland full of good food, wonderful people, and great craic! I am proud to say that towards the end of the semester the Sacred Heart students were fully accumulated to life in Ireland with the help of the amazing locals. In my study abroad semester, I was able to see the peninsula of Dingle, Galway, The Cliffs of Moher, and London with Sacred Heart. On my spring break I had the opportunity to travel to Rome, the Amalfi Coast, and Madrid! I am so happy to be a Global Ambassador and share my experience in Dingle, as well as encourage all of you to step out of your comfort zone!

My name is Marissa and I am a double major in criminal justice and psychology with a minor in film, TV, and media. I am also apart of Alpha Delta Pi sorority and the SHU Dance Ensemble. I studied abroad in Dingle, Ireland during my Spring 2022 semester. Dingle is an amazing small town that truly changed my life. The semester program allowed me to become part of the culture and town. In Ireland, I got to take several classes that pertained to my minor, so a lot of my coursework pertains to making short films and videos. I love to travel so having the semester to fully entertain my passion was truly amazing. I met so many amazing people, both within the program and town, and I miss it every day.

My name is Meghan Burke and I am a senior biology major with an honors minor on the pre-physician assistant track! I came to sacred heart with hopes of studying abroad and I was finally able to do so spring of my junior year. Choosing to study in Dingle was one of the best decisions of my life. Living in Dingle I felt right at home and was welcomed by everyone in the community. While abroad I was able to travel to England, Spain, Italy, Croatia and Czech Republic. I fell in love with traveling and learning about new cultures and would highly recommend it to everyone!

My name is Ricky, and I studied abroad in Dingle, Ireland for the semester-long Spring program in 2022. I am a pre-med neuroscience major and am also involved in other organizations on campus, such as Student Government and in Greek life as a member of Beta Theta Pi. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my friends and finding new experiences. I also enjoy exercising and playing video games. Study abroad changed my perspective on the world, and the ability to experience so many new places really impacted who I am as a person. I recommend everyone consider studying abroad, it is possible to fit it into any schedule or degree program.

My name is Sophia Kostiw, I am currently a senior and a Media Arts Major. I studied abroad in Dingle Ireland, for the entire spring semester in 2022, and it was the most amazing experience to say the least. As a media arts major, following my course of study in Ireland has given me a different outlook and vision for the art of film. Class time was more hands-on and immersive. Traveling abroad and getting immersed in a new culture taught me that the world has so much to offer. Studying overseas gave me a greater understanding of the world around me and taught me to appreciate the little things. The memories and friends I have made are irreplaceable. Life is short, if you have the opportunity to study abroad and experience the world, do it!

Hi guys! My name is Sydney Trowbridge and I am a junior here at SHU, and I studied abroad in Dingle, Ireland for the Semester program in spring 2022. I am a Criminal Justice major with a Political Science minor, and my goal is to attend law school after I graduate. On campus, I am also involved in our student ambassador program. Study abroad gave me so many amazing opportunities and introduced me to so many wonderful people that I wanted to share my experience with everyone. Study abroad was one of the greatest choices I have made at SHU and I hope I get the chance to go back some day!

Hi! My name is Elizabeth and I am a senior STEM Major for Elementary Education from Newtown, Connecticut! I was able to study abroad in Dingle, Ireland in the Spring semester of 2022. On campus I am involved in Kappa Alpha Theta sorority, the Student Ambassador program and the Academic Mentoring Program. I love doing anything outdoors like hiking or kayaking, and also traveling- all of which I was able to do during my time in Dingle! During the semester I was able to travel to Galway, London, Rome, Paris, Prague and Amsterdam! I was able to try so many new things during my semester that I would never have had a chance to do and I would not trade my experiences for anything!

On campus I am a member of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity, Student Nurses Association and a DHCON Classroom Learning Assistant. I enjoy spending time with friends and family, skiing, going to the beach, and traveling. I am looking forward to working as a Global Ambassador this semester to show just how special SHU in Dingle really is!

I am passionate about helping others, thrifting clothes, reading and exercising! I loved studying abroad, as it helped me find myself and learn how to be truly independent. There were so many things to do, so many people to meet, and many memories to make. I truly had the best time of my life and I wouldn't trade that time for the world!

Ireland was a fantastic experience and I learned so much about myself and made so many new friendships. In addition to exploring Dingle I went to other countries around Europe. I grew as a person from just one semester and I would recommend Dingle to anyone because of the location, people, food, and adventures! On campus I am on the rowing team and love anything outdoors like hiking, running, or going to the beach.

At Sacred Heart, I am a student ambassador, nursing peer mentor, secretary of the American Sign Language club, and a member of the SHU Medical Reserve Corps. I love to hike and spend my free time doing anything outdoors! I had the opportunity to study in Dingle, Ireland for the spring 2022 semester. It was an unforgettable semester with beautiful views on the peninsula, delicious food, and welcoming local friends. I also travelled to London, Spain, and Italy during my time abroad. I am beyond thankful for the memories I left with, and I look forward to going back to make more.

Hi I’m Kasey Cottrell and I am a junior nursing student with an honors minor, and I’m from Park Ridge, New Jersey. I studied abroad in Dingle, Ireland for the Spring semester of my sophomore year. I am a member of Chi Omega and the Student Nurses Association. Studying abroad was the best decision of my life! From singing in pubs, to surfing at Inch beach, to traveling around Europe for spring break, I made memories that will last a lifetime. I got to explore the town of Dingle with some of my best friends, and immersed myself in Irish culture. I ate good food, made great friends, and became a part of the Dingle community. I am so excited to be a global ambassador to share my experience and encourage others to go abroad as well!

My name is Francesca Catrone, but most people call me Frankie! I am a Junior Nursing major with a minor in Honors and Nutrition and am from Cedar Grove, New Jersey. I am involved on campus in our Student Ambassador program, Theater Arts Program, Dance Ensemble, American Sign Language Club and Chi Omega Fraternity. I studied abroad at our campus in Dingle, Ireland for the spring 2022 semester! Getting to experience Dingle has been such a memorable part of my time so far at SHU, and I can’t wait to share those experiences with you! During my time abroad I was able to visit several cities throughout Ireland, as well as throughout Italy, France and Portugal. I love meeting new people, trying new things, as well as spending time with friends and family!

My name is Sydney Barone and I am from the Hudson Valley, New York. I am a class of 2024 nursing major with a nutrition minor. I studied my spring 2022 semester in Dingle, Ireland! On campus, I am a member of Kappa Delta Sorority and I participate in the SNA Program. I enjoy going to the gym, traveling, outdoor activities and spending time with my friends and family. I was interested in the semester in Dingle because I wanted to expand my knowledge of culture within and outside of the nursing practice while traveling and having new experiences. I studied abroad in Dingle, Ireland during the two week summer program. I love to travel and always dreamed of studying abroad. I enjoy exploring new places and embracing new cultures. My major is interdisciplinary studies (education) and my minor is criminal justice. I am on the club soccer team at SHU. I am also involved in a few clubs such as Are You Autism Aware, and the Criminal Justice club. Two of my favorite hobbies are running and reading. One of my biggest bucket list moments was swimming with sharks in Hawaii.

I love traveling and love learning about new cultures, so I really enjoyed spending 2 weeks completely immersed in the Irish culture. Hi! My name is Ava Silva and I am from Naugatuck, Connecticut. I'm a sophomore at SHU and a Marketing Major. I am a member of Alpha Kappa Psi and Fashion Club. I love staying active and traveling so studying abroad in Dingle for summer of 2022 was a no brainer for me. I had the greatest time exploring Ireland and getting to really immerse myself in the culture through class and fun activities like horseback riding on the beach and kayaking through Dingle Bay. I got to meet so many locals and other students and made lifelong friends and memories. Studying abroad in Dingle was an incredible experience that I would recommend to anyone!
