This course will examine the history and development of a range of judicial and correctional techniques based on the philosophy known as “restorative justice.” It will compare this philosophy to other/competing penal philosophies. It will examine the spiritual and social aspects of restorative justice and consider the utility of restorative justice programs in a variety of modern contexts.
